Grand Opening of North Hamilton Community Health Centre Greenhouse

HAMILTON – September 29, 2016 – As part of the celebration of Community Health and Wellbeing Week, North Hamilton Community Health Centre is proud to announce the official grand opening of the Health Centre’s Community Greenhouse. The Greenhouse provides another opportunity for the Health Centre to continue its legacy of leadership in responding to community needs, particularly in the areas of food security and healthy living.

North Hamilton Community Health Centre is grateful for the support from our partner organizations; Ontario Trillium Foundation, Hamilton Port Authority, Niagara College, Community Forward Fund and TD Friends of the Environment. The generosity of our partners has been essential to the successful opening of the Community Greenhouse.

The Community Greenhouse Grand Opening is an opportunity for our partner organizations and community to learn more about the Greenhouse and our future plans including horticultural therapy and seed-to-table programming. As the North End community continues to grow together we look forward to embarking on new programming this fall!

The North Hamilton Community Health Centre first opened its doors to serve the diverse population of North Hamilton in March 1987. Today, the not-for-profit charitable organization receives funding from the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Local Health Integrated Network and serves nearly 20,000 clients from the North End and across the broader Hamilton – Niagara area.
