Soil Disposal Site
If the fill material is from an industrial or commercial site, then Hamilton Port Authority requires a copy of environmental test results for the proposed fill material. If the test results meet HPA's guideline (see Pier 22 Soils Criteria below) then tickets may be issued for dumping the fill material at the site, for the fees indicated below.
The on-site inspector takes random samples from the fill material for Quality Assurance/Quality Control purposes.
Generally, no testing is required for fill material from residential sites.
- Operating hours 8am - 4pm, Monday through Friday
- PLEASE NOTE: As of Monday, December 7, 2009, the site will only be open on Mondays from 8am to 4pm. This will continue until further notice.
- Cost per load $70 plus GST, cash or cheque only (price subject to change)
- A booklet has 10 tickets
- Minimum purchase is one booklet
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable
- Hamilton Port Authority reserves the right to refuse the dumping of any unacceptable fill material
- Hamilton Port Authority reserves the right to close the site without notice

Additional Notes:
- Concrete and asphalt are to be less than 600 mm in any and all dimensions
- All reinforcing steel is to be cut off flush with the edge of concrete, where applicable
- Clean brick, block, clay, sand, and gravel are acceptable
- Garbage, wood, plastic, glass, or any other debris is not acceptable
- The guideline chemical concentrations indicated will be used to assess the suitability of all soils proposed to be disposed of at the site
