HR Partnership Committee

In 2009, the Hamilton Port Authority established the HR Partnership Committee to promote the port as a whole and work together to create better solutions than would be achieved alone. Acting as a resource to each other, the committee addresses a variety of topics including;

  • Training & Development
  • Health & Safety
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Corporate Initiatives
  • Recruitment & Retention
  • Policies & Procedures

In addition, the committee provides the opportunity to brainstorm, problem solve, share best practices, discuss hot topics & trend, and form network connections within the Port community.

The committee meets on a quarterly basis with members holding a variety of roles.  Some organizations have a designated HR individual and in some organizations, the HR role falls under the responsibility of an operations role – members fall in both categories.  Each meeting is hosted by a different organization with a tour of the facility provided at the conclusion of the business portion of the meeting if appropriate.

Currently the committee consists of participants from the following organizations:
Bermingham, Biox, Bitumar, Bunge, Carego, Fairmont Minerals, Federal Marine Terminals, Hamilton Port Authority, Heddle Marine, McKeil Marine, Mana Steel, Richardson, Ruetgers, Westway and Vopak
